Within the framework of implementing the National Strategy for Suicide Prevention in Iraq, the Department of Media and Government Communication at the University of Information Technology and Communications (UOITC) has launched an awareness-raising media campaign.
The initiative aims to promote mental health awareness and foster a culture of psychological and social support among members of the university community.
The campaign features the production and dissemination of a suite of informational and educational materials.
These materials address the primary causes and factors associated with suicidal behavior, identify the early indicators of psychological crises, and highlight the critical importance of seeking assistance from specialized authorities, alongside channels for obtaining appropriate mental health support.
This initiative stems from the university’s commitment to its educational and humanitarian role in promoting mental well-being.
By fostering a safe and supportive campus environment, the university seeks to solidify the values of community solidarity and encourage mutual aid for individuals facing psychological challenges—ultimately enhancing quality of life and contributing to a more conscious and cohesive society.
