The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced that the National University Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Applications Championship (NURAI 2026) has been sponsored by the Prime Minister, in a move that reflects the government’s interest in supporting scientific and technological initiatives and promoting an environment of innovation in higher education institutions.
The Ministry affirmed that this sponsorship stems from the importance of the championship as a national project aimed at developing creativity and innovation among students, establishing a culture of scientific research and academic competition, as well as enhancing the role of Iraqi universities in preparing a generation that possesses the necessary skills and knowledge in the fields of robotics and artificial intelligence applications in line with global scientific and technological developments.
In this context, the University of Information Technology and Communications announced its participation in the National Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Championship (NURAI 2026) through the College of Business Informatics and the Colleges of Biomedical Informatics, in a step that reflects its interest in supporting innovation and developing students’ skills in the fields of modern technologies.
The university confirmed its distinguished participation through selecting a group of its creative students who will present innovative projects in the fields of artificial intelligence, which will enhance its presence in scientific and technological forums.
