Under the patronage of the President of the University of Information Technology and Communications, Professor Dr. Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri, the university hosted the second meeting of the preparatory committee for “Iraq Technology Week.” Representatives from governmental and academic institutions, as well as private sector companies, participated in the meeting, which aimed to support digital transformation in Iraq.

The meeting was attended by several organizing and partner entities from the public and private sectors, including the Council of Representatives/Committee on Transportation and Communications, the Ministry of Communications, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, and the National Security Advisory/Cybersecurity Center, in addition to professional associations, organizations, and specialized companies.

Participants discussed organizational aspects and strategic plans to ensure the success of the event, emphasizing its importance in stimulating innovation and fostering a digital transformation environment. They also discussed supporting partnerships between the public and private sectors and aligning educational outcomes with the labor market.

The meeting also addressed preparations for the International Conference on Digital Resilience and Interconnected Systems, coinciding with World Telecommunication and Information Society Day 2026, and preparations for launching the 10th edition of the Communications and Information Society Forum.
