Under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri, and supervised by the Director of the Student Activities Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Imad Kadhim Abdul-Kaabi, the department held an event in the university gardens to introduce its educational scouting camp. The event brought together 32 male and female students from the university’s colleges and aimed to highlight the importance of university scouting camps and their role in developing skills and fostering cooperation and teamwork.
The event included a cultural workshop delivered by Nofal Majid Muhi, Assistant Lecturer and head of the Scouting Activities Division. The workshop covered the requirements for scouting camps, how to pitch and prepare tents, and the accompanying artistic, organizational, and cultural activities. Students also had the opportunity to put their scouting skills into practice.
The event is part of preparations to form a Scout Rover team for male students and a Girl Guide team for female students, ahead of completing the administrative procedures required to participate in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s program, scheduled to take place in the gardens of the University of Baghdad next week.
The University President praised the importance of the event, commended the efforts of those involved, and reaffirmed his support for programs that help develop students’ talents and strengthen their abilities. The event was attended by the deans of the Colleges of Biomedical Informatics and Engineering, the heads of the Student Activities Divisions at the university’s three colleges, and a number of faculty members and staff.
