The University of Information Technology and Communications organized the activities of the second day of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week held under the slogan “From the Land of Mesopotamia Ideas Emerge” under the patronage of the University President Professor Dr. Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri during the period from 8 to 12 February.
The Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Jaafar Athab Ankod, inaugurated the “Innovation Entrepreneurship Exhibition” for the university’s students, which featured the presentation of entrepreneurial projects and ideas reflecting the students’ skills and their ability to transform academic knowledge into practical applications.
The activities also included a lecture titled “Science and Technology Incubators as a Supportive Environment for Turning Ideas into Scientific Reality,” delivered by Asst. Lecturer Ban Issam Rashid from the Electronic Computing Center, in which she discussed the role of incubators in incubating startup projects and providing a supportive environment for their development.
The second day also featured success stories from several students and graduates who managed to establish startup companies, sharing their practical experiences and the challenges they faced in their entrepreneurial journeys.
The activities also included remarks by the Assistant President of the University for Academic Affairs, Dr. Haider Hassan Mashali, in which he emphasized the importance of supporting student initiatives and fostering an innovative environment within the university, contributing to the establishment of an entrepreneurial culture and the transformation of ideas into productive projects that serve society.
