As part of its efforts to expand university education opportunities and provide academic pathways for inmates within correctional facilities, the College of Business Informatics at the University of Information Technology and Communications is working to finalize the necessary procedures and requirements for opening an Information Systems Management Department at Baghdad Central Prison.

The Director of Baghdad Central Prison, Mr. Mu’taz Abdul Aziz Jabr, received Mr. Fatyan Shafiq Ajil, a faculty member at the college, to discuss the preparations and procedures related to opening the department and to review the necessary requirements for creating a suitable learning environment. This will allow inmates to continue their education in their field of specialization and acquire academic knowledge and skills.

This step is an extension of the college’s commitment to supporting university education within correctional facilities and strengthening cooperation with relevant authorities. This contributes to empowering inmates academically and professionally, preparing them for positive reintegration into society and building a better future.

The university and the college affirm their commitment to continuing and developing this educational initiative, which reinforces the university’s role in providing educational opportunities for all and solidifying its academic and community mission.
