Professor Dr. Suha Mohammed Hadi, Dean of the Informatics Institute for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Information Technology and Communications, participated as a speaker in an international online panel discussion organized by IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Region 8 in collaboration with IEEE WIE Iraq and IEEE WIE Egypt, with technical support from the IEEE Systems Council Egypt Chapter, in celebration of IEEE WIE Day 2026.
During the seminar, titled “Shaping the Next Generation of Girl Leaders – She Leads the Way,” the Dean emphasized the importance of empowering women in the fields of science, engineering, and technology. She highlighted their pivotal role in preparing a new generation of female leaders capable of creativity, innovation, and driving positive change.
She also highlighted the efforts of the Institute of Informatics for Postgraduate Studies in fostering an academic and research-oriented environment and promoting women’s participation in the fields of information technology and artificial intelligence. She emphasized the importance of international collaboration and the exchange of expertise in building the capacities of young people and empowering them to keep pace with the rapid advancements in science and technology.
The seminar brought together a distinguished group of female leaders and academics from several countries. The program featured a panel discussion on strategies for preparing the next generation of female leaders and showcased inspiring experiences in leadership and innovation, contributing to the empowerment of women and strengthening their role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
