The Department of University Psychological Counseling at the University of Information Technology and Communications (UOITC), in cooperation with the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations, organized an educational and introductory campaign to mark International Geodiversity Day. This initiative was executed in implementation of the directives issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, celebrating the global day proclaimed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on the sixth of October.
The campaign featured the distribution of educational posters and brochures among university students and staff. The materials aimed to introduce the concept of geodiversity and its pivotal role in conserving natural resources, while highlighting how geological formations support ecological balance and raising awareness on the importance of protecting geological heritage.
This initiative falls within the framework of the university’s commitment to enhancing environmental culture, spreading scientific awareness across the university community, and encouraging students to engage with environmental issues and natural resources, thereby contributing to the consolidation of sustainability concepts and environmental responsibility.
