In response to the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research regarding the development of employee skills, the Continuous Education Center at the University of Information Technology and Communications completed the media training course for newly apppointed employees.

The course was presented by Assist. Lect. Farqad Abdul Jabbar, Head of the Media and Government Communication Department, and Lect. Dr. Furat Kadhum Challoub, from the Public Relations Division, and the course covered several topics, including an introduction to communication science, its types, patterns and elements, in addition to an introduction to media science, the basics of digital media, its advantages and disadvantages, and the topic of university media and its importance in highlighting scientific and academic activities, building the institutional image of the university and enhancing its communication with society.

The course also addressed the mechanisms of writing news in general and university news in particular, including its pillars and themes, as well as presenting practical examples derived from the social and university reality, which contributes to enhancing the participants’ media and communication skills.
