The University of Information Technology and Communications Council, chaired by University President Professor Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri, held its twelfth session for the 2025-2026 academic year on Monday, August 24, 2026. Council members were present to discuss several topics and issues that serve the university’s interests and enhance its academic and administrative operations.

During the session, the University President emphasized the importance of consolidating academic rigor and institutional discipline, and continuing academic and administrative development in line with the aspirations of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and quality standards, thus contributing to improved university performance.

The Council approved the names of students accepted into postgraduate studies for the 2026-2027 academic year across the university’s various departments. These include the Master’s programs in the College of Business Informatics and the College of Engineering, as well as the Diploma and Master’s programs in the Institute of Informatics for Postgraduate Studies.

During the session, the University President congratulated Professor Dr. Suha Mohammed Hadi, Dean of the Institute of Informatics for Graduate Studies, on the publication of the first issue of the Institute’s peer-reviewed scientific journal, the Journal of Informatics and Advanced Data Science (JIADS), and its inclusion in the Iraqi peer-reviewed journals platform of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The University President commended this scientific achievement, emphasizing the importance of peer-reviewed academic journals in supporting scientific research and publication and enhancing the presence of the University and its academic and research institutions.
