Under the patronage of the Assistant President of the University of Information Technology and Communications for Scientific Affairs, Assist. Prof. Dr. Haider Hassan Mshali, and under the supervision of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bureau of Scientific and Advisory Services, Assist. Prof. Dr. Nagham Hamed Abdul Mahdi, the University held an introductory seminar about the Bureau of Scientific and Advisory Services, hosted by the College of Engineering and presented by the Director of the Bureau, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abbas Jassem, in the presence of a number of faculty members and interested parties, including the Dean of the Business Informatics College.

The seminar addressed the Bureau’s vision, mission, and objectives, as well as reviewing Law No. (7) of 1997 concerning scientific and advisory services bureaus in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and its related instructions, which contributes to organizing the mechanisms of advisory and scientific work within higher education institutions.

The symposium also highlighted the most prominent scientific disciplines within which the Bureau operates, and the scientific and advisory services it provides to public and private sector institutions, as well as discussing the role that academic competencies at the University can play in supporting the Bureau’s future plans and enhancing scientific and advisory partnerships to serve various community institutions.

The symposium emphasized the importance of activating the role of scientific and advisory bureaus in universities as an effective link between the academic side and the needs of the labor market, and in a way that contributes to employing scientific expertise to serve institutional and societal development.
