The University of Information Technology and Communications, under the auspices of the University President, Professor Dr. Abbas Mohsin Al-Bakri, organized a blood donation initiative to support cancer and thalassemia patients, as well as hospitalized individuals. The event saw widespread participation from teaching faculty, administrative staff, and students, reflecting a commitment to enhancing social responsibility and fostering a culture of voluntary and humanitarian work.
The Department of Media and Government Communication, in cooperation with a specialized team from the National Blood Donation Bank, managed the media campaign, conducted the necessary medical examinations, and supervised the donation processes in accordance with approved health standards.
This initiative stems from the university presidency’s keenness to support humanitarian and health activities, reinforce the role of academic institutions in serving the community, and contribute to meeting the blood supply needs of healthcare facilities to save the lives of patients and the injured.
The broad participation in the donation drive reflected a spirit of solidarity, integration, and awareness regarding the importance of voluntary initiatives in supporting the healthcare sector.
