Under the chairmanship of the President of the University of Information Technology and Communications, Professor Dr. Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri, the university council held its first meeting for the academic year 2026–2027, to discuss several scientific, academic, and administrative topics listed on its agenda.
The session began with a review of the directives from His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, alongside the directives from the university president regarding preparations for the new academic year, including matters related to undergraduate and postgraduate studies, ensuring the smooth flow of the educational process and achieving the university’s academic goals.
The council emphasized the importance of early preparation for the new academic year and monitoring the implementation of academic and research plans, in addition to developing programs and curricula to keep pace with scientific and technological advancements and meet labor market requirements. The council also stressed the need to provide a university environment that fosters creativity and innovation, as well as improving the quality of educational services offered to students.
The council made a series of decisions and recommendations aimed at enhancing institutional performance, improving the quality of education and scientific research, and developing the academic and administrative environment at the university, in line with the directions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the university’s objectives for the new academic year.
