In accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to hold special events for the International Day for the Prevention of Violent Extremism, the University of Information Technology and Communications organized a wide-ranging educational campaign targeting students and staff of the university and its colleges, aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of extremism and promoting values of moderation and tolerance.
The campaign was held under the supervision of a committee formed by the university presidency to implement the program of events, which will extend over ten days, including the distribution of awareness and guidance pamphlets in the university corridors. The educational campaign highlighted the concept of violent extremism, its causes, manifestations, and negative impacts on individuals and society.
The awareness campaign also focused on the importance of establishing a culture of dialogue and acceptance of others, warning against the dangers of extremist digital content, while emphasizing the necessity of monitoring digital algorithms that may target young people and influence their orientations, both in real life and in virtual spaces.
