The Women’s Affairs Division, in collaboration with the Continuious Education Center at the University of Information Technology and Communications , organized an awareness seminar titled “The Impact of Social Media on Families and Children,” which addressed the implications of using digital platforms on family life and ways to raise awareness of their risks and negative effects.

The seminar was presented by Dr. Amani Saleh from the Women’s Affairs Division, Assist. Lec.Asma Abdulrahman from the Finance Department, and Assist. Lec. Helen Anwar from the Human Resources Department. They discussed scientific and awareness-raising topics focused on the family’s role in managing the relationship with the digital space and fostering a balanced awareness among children regarding social media use.

The seminar addressed the importance of mindful use of social media within the family, highlighting its psychological, behavioral, and social effects on family members, particularly children, as well as identifying indicators of digital addiction and the accompanying educational and behavioral challenges, as well as proposing a range of solutions and approaches that contribute to mitigating these effects and promoting the positive use of technology.
