The University of Information Technology and Communications (UoITC) took part in the 4th University of Baghdad International Road Race 2026, held under the theme “Love and Peace.” The prominent event witnessed the participation of over 70 Iraqi public and private universities, alongside international delegations from several Arab and foreign countries.
UoITC’s delegation delivered a standout performance, most notably achieved by Nabaa Ihsan Sabbar, a second-year student in the Department of Systems at the College of Biomedical Informatics. She secured 43rd place among roughly 400 male and female athletes, reflecting the competitive spirit and athletic excellence characteristic of the university’s student body.
The university’s participation was supervised by Dr. Imad Kadhim Abdul-Kaabi, Head of the Student Activities Department, and included several faculty members and students.

This reflects UoITC’s ongoing commitment to supporting extracurricular activities and encouraging student engagement in national, regional, and international university events.

It’s noteworthy that this active participation aligns seamlessly with several UN Sustainable Development Goals including:
Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being): Promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
Goal 4 (Quality Education): Supporting holistic, well-rounded university activities.
Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions): Conveying the forum’s core message of love and peace.
Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals): Fostering collaboration and communication between local and international academic and athletic institutions.
The forum was organized under the supervision of the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Apparatus at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in cooperation with the Iraqi University Sports Federation, coinciding with the national Sovereignty Day celebrations.
