The College of Business Informatics at the University of Information Technology and Communications (UoITC) organized a workshop on the procedures for preparing academic promotion documents.
The workshop, presented by Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdul Sahib, was attended by a number of faculty members. It aimed to clarify the regulations and instructions governing academic promotion procedures. It began with a detailed presentation covering the most important requirements and procedures for preparing the promotion file, starting with official administrative orders issued by the university, then orders for commencement of duties and termination of duties, as well as extended leaves of absence and the necessity of including them in the service record, effective from the date of obtaining the last academic title.
The workshop also emphasized the importance of ensuring that all submitted documents are certified and bear the official university seals. It stressed the need to clearly state the general and specific field of specialization, attach a service record summary, provide proof of the academic journals’ credibility, review previous promotion research, and fulfill all required commitments. All these requirements must be completed before submitting the promotion application, not after.
In conclusion, the workshop emphasized the necessity of meticulously organizing the promotion application and arranging all documents correctly to facilitate the review process and ensure that academic promotions are completed within the specified timeframes.
