The doctoral thesis of the student (Afrah Imran Musa), specializing in computer science, was discussed at the Institute of Informatics for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Information Technology and Communications.
The thesis was titled: “Grey Wolf Optimization for Multispectral Image Fusion “
The study demonstrated the development of three models for image fusion based on the integration of new deep learning techniques such as self-attention and transformers in addition to other techniques such as wavelet transforms and optimization algorithms. The study seeks to improve the quality of the fused images more accurately and efficiently.

Multispectral image fusion is an important field, especially in applications such as remote sensing, computer vision, and biomedicine, where it helps extract more detailed information from images.

After the thesis was discussed by the head and members of the discussion committee, the student was awarded PhD degree with a Very Good rating.
