The Continuing Education Center at the university has concluded the fifth training course of the University Leadership and Human Resources Development Program (Self-Skills Approach).
This course was held in line with the implementation of two national projects for developing and qualifying university leadership, based on the scientific plan set by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for the years 2023, 2024, and 2025. The course topics were selected according to ministerial directives and the Department of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up.
The course was delivered by a number of university professors: Dr. Iyad Tareq Abdul-Majeed, Dr. Maha Fadel Ibrahim, Assistant Lecturer Aseel Jiyad Abbas, and Assistant Lecturer Sanaa Tu’ma Odeh. It was attended by several department heads, division and unit managers from the university and its colleges, who received intensive scientific training.
The course covered various topics related to self-skills that department and division heads should possess, such as translation skills, presentation and public speaking skills, communication skills, creative thinking, as well as the writing of memos and administrative minutes, verbal and non-verbal communication, and the development of out-of-the-box thinking skills. It also addressed stress management under work pressure, international agreements, and public relations.
The final development course concluded with a written exam for the participants, followed by a visit from the University President, Professor Dr. Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri, to inspect the examination process.
