Continuing Education Centre, in cooperation with the Department of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance at the University of Information Technology and Communications (UoITC), held an online seminar on promoting the culture of participation in decision-making.
The seminar was presented by Nedhal Gumar Abdul Wahid, Head of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Department at the university. She emphasized the importance of providing a suitable social, cultural, legal, and political environment to ensure successful decision-making.
The seminar included an explanation of the process of human development and the encouragement of promoting the culture of participation in decision-making, accepting different opinions that result from successful planning through electronic questionnaires and publishing results.
The seminar also discussed the role of technology in enhancing the culture of participation in decision-making, integrity, and transparency, and how technology can help ensure fairness and prevent manipulation, exploitation, and information leaks.
Furthermore, the seminar clarified that the decision-making process can take many forms—whether addressing a specific issue, choosing the correct alternatives, reducing losses, or any other outcomes that institutions, and even down to individual households, aim at, where a culture of participation in decision-making exists.
It’s noteworthy that this seminar is part of the strategic national activities for education and learning for the month of June 2025.
