The University of Information Technology and Communications has maintained its position among advanced Iraqi universities in the Webometrics World Ranking 2025, which is considered one of the most prominent international rankings concerned with evaluating the quality and performance of academic institutions.

The university ranked (47) locally out of (128) Iraqi universities and colleges, and ranked (4833) globally out of more than 32 thousand educational institutions included in the classification. The Webometrics ranking is based on three main indicators: clarity (50%), transparency (10%), and research excellence (40%), according to the official ranking website of the Spanish Higher Center for Scientific Research.

The current version of the ranking shows significant progress in the performance of Iraqi universities, with the University of Baghdad topping the list of Iraqi academic institutions, reflecting a continuous improvement in the quality of education and scientific research at the national level.
