The University of Information Technology and Communications organized a training workshop titled “Linguistic Errors in Administrative Correspondence,” based on the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Department of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up, and under the supervision of the Continuing Education Center in collaboration with the Departments of Administrative and Financial Affairs and Legal Affairs at the university.
The workshop aimed to enhance the level of linguistic accuracy and the quality of drafting in correspondence and official documents within the university, positively reflecting on the efficiency of administrative and institutional performance.
The workshop was presented by instructors Israa Jawad Ali Akbar and Sabreen Ghaleb Kadhem, who addressed the most common linguistic errors in official correspondence and provided correct alternatives in an applied manner supported by practical examples.
The workshop also included an explanation of a set of basic spelling and grammatical rules, as well as a discussion of some grammatical and semantic errors that frequently occur in administrative correspondence, correcting them according to the proper rules of the Arabic language. The workshop concluded with recommendations emphasizing the importance of maintaining linguistic accuracy in official correspondence as a reflection of the professionalism of the institution and the precision of its administrative work.
