As part of its social responsibility and its commitment to promoting a culture of health awareness among students and staff members, the University of Information Technology and Communications (UoITC) celebrated the “Pink Month” event, aimed at raising awareness about breast cancer, its prevention methods, and the importance of early detection.
The event was held on Monday, October 13, 2025, in the university’s main hall in Al-Mansour / Al-Niqabat Street.
It included an awareness session titled “Understanding Breast Cancer: Prevention and Early Detection Mechanisms”, presented by Dr. Nawras Naji Mohammed and Dr. Bushra Nouri Jamaan.
The speakers emphasized the importance of regular check-ups and the role of health awareness in reducing the spread of the disease.
The program also featured an inspiring real-life testimony by Dr. Sura Riyadh, who shared her personal experience and message in supporting women and promoting a culture of optimism and hope.
The event concluded with a charity bazaar, the proceeds of which were dedicated to supporting breast cancer patients — a humanitarian initiative that reflects the university’s values of community service and its commitment to fostering a spirit of solidarity and compassion.
