The Faculty of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Information Technology and Communications, in cooperation with the National Security Agency, held a workshop on combating violent extremism leading to terrorism.

The workshop aimed to introduce the concept of violent extremism, its types, and causes, highlighting its danger to societal peace, and how to combat and prevent it using scientific methods and techniques to combat the types of violent extremism leading to terrorism. It also discussed the role of youth in combating extremist ideologies and emphasized the importance of cooperation between educational and security institutions to support security and stability.

After the workshop, which was attended by a number of professors and students, the lecturers, Major Muhannad Hassan Jabr and Captain Akram Munim Khazal, were honored with a certificate of appreciation presented by the Deanship of the Faculty of Biomedical Informatics.

It is worth noting that this workshop is part of the efforts made by the university presidency and its colleges to raise awareness and combat phenomena that threaten societal stability.
