The College of Engineering at the University of Information Technology and Communications, in cooperation with the National Security Agency, held a workshop on “Combating Violent Extremism Leading to Terrorism.” The workshop was presented by Major Muhannad Hassan Jabr.

The workshop aimed to introduce the concept of violent extremism, its types and causes, and highlight its danger to societal peace. It also discussed methods for combating and preventing it using scientifically studied methods.

The workshop also addressed the role of educational and pedagogical institutions in confronting extremist ideas, and the lecturer emphasized the importance of cooperation between academic and security agencies in supporting societal security and stability.

This workshop is part of the efforts of the University Presidency and the College of Engineering to promote intellectual awareness and contribute to combating phenomena that threaten societal stability.
