The Institute of Informatics for Postgraduate Studies (IIPS) at the University of Information Technology and Communications (UoITC) held a scientific seminar titled “The Relationship Between Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence.” The seminar was presented by Assist. Lect. Rasha Ali Hammoudi and Asst. Dr. Rana Aziz Yousif, with the attendance of a number of faculty members and staff from the institute and the university.

The seminar highlighted the fundamental role of mathematics as the scientific foundation upon which artificial intelligence techniques are built, contributing to the transformation of complex data into accurate models that support analysis, prediction, and decision-making.
It also discussed how artificial intelligence, in turn, has contributed to the development of certain branches of mathematics and their modern methods.

The presenters reviewed applications of artificial intelligence in advanced mathematical fields, including intelligent education systems, automated correction, discovering new theories, solving differential equations, improving numerical methods, analyzing statistical data, mathematical modeling, optimal control, symbolic analysis, and predicting numerical sequences. They also addressed its growing use in financial and economic mathematics.
