The University Counseling Department at the Presidency of the University of Information Technology and Communications, in collaboration with the University Counseling Unit at the College of Business Informatics, organized an awareness seminar titled “The Drug Epidemic and Its Harms to Individuals and Society” as part of the Iraqi Week for Drug Control. The aim is to enhance awareness of the dangers of substance abuse and its health and social effects.

The seminar, delivered by Colonel Zeina Abdul Sadiq Saad from the Research and Studies Center at the General Directorate for Drug Affairs and Psychotropic Substances in the Ministry of Interior, addressed the methods of drug spread among youth and the devastating effects of this epidemic on individuals, families, and society, as well as government efforts in combating, preventing, and rehabilitating those affected.

At the end of the seminar, the university president, Professor Dr. Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri, awarded a certificate of appreciation to Colonel Zeina Abdul Sadiq in recognition of her participation and efforts in supporting awareness programs within the community
