The University of Information Technology and Communications launched the (Al-Ameed Reader Project) in cooperation with the Holy Abbasid Shrine as part of the activities of the National Holy Quraan Week, as part of its move to enhance the presence of digital technologies in the service of Quraanic education and in line with the digital transformation witnessed by academic institutions in Iraq.
The University President, Professor Dr. Abbas Al-Bakri, said during the launch ceremony that the (Al-Ameed Reader Project) represents a qualitative step in the university’s scientific and societal path, stressing that the project is not limited to being a technical application, but rather embodies the university’s vision of building solid digital platforms that link academic knowledge with religious and human values.
Al-Bakri added that (Al-Ameed Reader Project) is an integrated digital platform that adopts the latest technologies in the field of information and communications technology and aims to provide a flexible educational environment that meets the needs of different age groups and contributes to spreading Quraanic culture inside and outside Iraq.
The President of the Scientific Academy of the Holy Quraan also praised Dr. Mushtaq Al-Ali initiated the University of Information Technology and Communications to achieve this technical success, pointing out that transforming Quraanic education into a digital system is not just a formal update, but rather an inevitable necessity to achieve major goals related to breaking the geographical barrier, accuracy, documentation, and investing time.
The (Al-Ameed Reader Project) is the first Iraqi national project concerned with teaching the Holy Quraan in the digital space, and it was developed and implemented by specialized Iraqi hands to provide an advanced model in employing information and communications technology to serve the Holy Quraan and facilitate its learning, memorization, and recitation using modern and safe methods.
