As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting the comprehensive digital transformation pathway, the University of Information Technology and Communications (UoITC) and in cooperation with the National Center for Digital Transformation, has launched the second training workshop for the National Open Government Portal.
The portal represents an integrated digital platform and an advanced step in the management of government data and its efficient utilization in serving the public interest.
The workshop aims at strengthening concepts of government data governance, raising awareness of data quality policies, and introducing participants to the concept of open data and datasets. It also includes a review of leading international experiences, in addition to practical training on the mechanisms for using the national portal.
During the workshop, the President of the University, Professor Dr. Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri, affirmed that “the launch of the second training workshop for the National Open Government Portal embodies the continuity of institutional work within the digital transformation process and reinforces the principles of transparency and data accessibility. This, in turn, contributes to supporting decision-makers, strengthening citizens’ trust in government institutions, and opening broader horizons for scientific research, innovation, and sustainable development.”
He added that the UoITC continues to harness its academic and technical capabilities, in partnership with the National Center for Digital Transformation, to support the establishment of a modern national data ecosystem aligned with international standards and serving the public interest.
