Under the patronage and attendance of the President of the University of Information Technology and Communications, Professor Dr. Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri, along with his academic and administrative assistants, the deans of the Institute of Informatics for Graduate Studies and the College of Business Informatics, as well as a number of faculty members, staff, and students, the university witnessed the launch of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week activities under the slogan “Ideas Emerge from the Land of the Two Rivers,” from February 8 to 12, 2026.
In his speech, Prof.Dr. Albakry praised the efforts made in organizing these events, encouraging students to make the most of this national initiative launched by the Prime Minister, which represents a meeting point between innovative projects and the ideas of ambitious youth.
As part of the events, the university launched a student hackathon competition titled “The Entrepreneurial Programmer,” which included a programming challenge requiring innovative solutions, with three prizes allocated for the winners of the competition.
The events also featured a lecture titled “Content and Entrepreneurial Digital Marketing for Startups,” presented by Dr. Ban Qassem from the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department.
Additionally, the activities included a discussion panel titled “From Idea to Market: Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Era of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Shopping,” presented by several faculty members from the College of Engineering at the university, including:
