The University of information technology and communications participated in the activities of the International Academic Forum of the Association of European–Asian Universities (EURAS Academy), which was organized by the University of the Future in babylon
Governorate in cooperation with the EURAS Association, with wide participation from local and international academic institutions.

The university was represented at the forum by the vice chancellor for scientific affairs , Dr. Haider Hassan Mashali, along with a number of university faculty members. Mashali gave a scientific lecture on the topic of quality in the Bologna Process, during which he focused on internal quality assurance systems and the adoption of European Quality Standards (ESG) as part of the Bologna Process applications in Iraqi universities.

Dr. Mashali also participated in the meeting of university presidents and representatives, which was devoted to discussing prospects for international cooperation and the internationalization of higher education, during which he reviewed the initiatives of the University of Information and Communications Technology at the global and specialized levels, in addition to its academic presence and cooperation with educational institutions in Turkey in particular.

The forum’s work was divided into four specialized dialogue sessions that discussed a number of main topics, most notably governance, strategic leadership, consolidating a culture of quality, and aligning global standards with the requirements of local reality, as well as digital transformation, artificial intelligence technologies, internationalization, academic mobility, and the development of joint research.

The sessions also touched on sustainability paths, green campus models, and mechanisms for integrating sustainable development goals into universities’ institutional strategies.
