The College of Biomedical Informatics (CBMI) at the University of Information Technology and Communications (UoITC) held an introductory seminar on the National University Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Applications Championship (NURAI). The seminar was delivered by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Fadhil Zamil, and aimed to introduce students to the importance of this championship, encourage them to participate in it, and develop their capabilities in the fields of technological innovation.
The seminar included a review of the championship’s vision and objectives, which aim to foster a spirit of innovation among students and support applied scientific research. It also highlighted the role of such competitions in motivating students to develop technological projects capable of providing practical solutions to the challenges facing various sectors, including the medical, industrial, agricultural, and educational fields.
The seminar also addressed several key themes, including the participation guidelines, which involved clarifying the conditions and technical criteria required for participating teams. It also reviewed the project tracks that provide students with diverse opportunities for creativity within the fields of artificial intelligence and robotics. Additionally, the mechanism for forming student teams and the method of registering for the championship through the official website were explained. The seminar further offered a set of guidelines and advice on how to select innovative ideas and develop them in accordance with the evaluation criteria adopted in the competition.
The National University Robotics Championship is a national scientific event organized under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It aims to promote technological innovation and encourage students to develop their practical and theoretical skills in the fields of robotics, intelligent systems, control systems, computer vision, artificial intelligence, and autonomous systems.
