As part of the scientific cooperation and openness programs with state institutions, the Biomedical Informatics College at the University of Information Technology and Communications organized a scientific visit for graduating students to the Cyber Security Directorate of the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, with the aim of enhancing the practical and applied aspect for students in the field of cyber security and electronic protection.
The visit was supervised by a number of faculty members of the college and included a scientific meeting with the director of the Cyber Security Directorate, Brigadier General Dr. Hassan Hadi Latheeth, who gave an awareness lecture that addressed the nature of the work of the directorate, and highlighted the most prominent cyber risks and challenges in the current stage, as well as reviewing a roadmap for developing students’ skills and qualifying them in this vital and important field.
The visit also included the presentation of a collection of specialized books in the field of cybersecurity and electronic protection by the Cybersecurity Directorate, in addition to discussing prospects for future scientific cooperation between the two sides, including the development of curricula, the organization of workshops and training courses for students and teaching staff, as well as summer training opportunities.
For their part, the supervising professors and students expressed their appreciation for this scientific initiative, stressing the importance of such visits in linking the academic aspect with practical reality, and contributing to the development of students’ skills and enhancing their professional readiness in modern technical disciplines.
