​As part of fostering cooperation between academic institutions and government departments, Assistant Lecturer Maryam Qasim Hmmoud, a faculty member at the College of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Information Technology and Communications, delivered a specialized awareness lecture titled “Dietary Supplements” at the Baghdad/Al-Rusafa Directorate of Youth and Sports.
​The lecture was held in cooperation with the Directorate’s Sports Medicine Division, as part of the approved plan of activities and initiatives for May 2026.
It aimed to elevate health and athletic awareness among young people and enhance their knowledge of proper nutrition.
​The lecture covered a range of important aspects regarding dietary supplements, including the principles of their safe use, their key benefits, and the risks of excessive consumption. Additionally, it addressed their health and athletic impacts, contributing to establishing correct scientific concepts and promoting sound health practices.
​Such lectures play a vital role in spreading health education and raising awareness across various segments of society, while also fulfilling the United Nations’ third Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 3) on Good Health and Well-being.
