The University Psychological Counseling Division, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center at the University of Information Technology and Communications, organized an online seminar entitled “Transparency and Accountability: Legal Foundations for Achieving Integrity and Combating Corruption”. The seminar was held as part of the activities of the National Strategy for Integrity and Anti-Corruption.

The seminar was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Maryam Razzaq Wadi from the Legal Department. During her presentation, she highlighted the importance of establishing the principles of transparency, accountability, and integrity in building effective institutions and strengthening public trust in governmental institutions. She also reviewed the legal frameworks and legislation that support these principles and discussed their role in reducing administrative and financial corruption.

The seminar also addressed the fundamental concepts related to integrity, explaining the role of transparency in ensuring access to information and promoting clarity in procedures. It highlighted the importance of accountability in assuming responsibility for decisions and actions, as well as the need to reinforce ethical values that prevent the misuse of public office for personal gain.

The seminar also discussed the impact of digital transformation and the automation of government procedures in promoting integrity, strengthening institutional oversight, and reducing opportunities for corruption. It emphasized the importance of adhering to academic integrity and professional conduct, as well as fostering an institutional environment based on transparency and integrity in support of the objectives of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy.
