As part of its active participation in specialized scientific and technical forums, the University of Information Technology and Communications, represented by the Institute of Informatics for Postgraduate Studies, participated in the Cyber Leadership Summit. Dr. Ali Hassan Tarish, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs at the Institute, represented the University, in the presence of the Minister of Communications, Mr. Mustafa Sand.
Dr. Tarish’s participation was part of a panel discussion that addressed ways to empower cyber leaders to build a resilient cybersecurity system. The discussion emphasized the conceptual link between cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, and reviewed the latest innovations and technologies aimed at enhancing cyber defense capabilities and confronting emerging threats.
The summit also saw the Minister of Communications participate in seven interactive, real-time surveys. These surveys covered key topics including the importance of data, machine learning technologies, secure local storage, and the local training of artificial intelligence models using solutions from Alibaba and Christian. This reflects the growing interest in developing digital infrastructure and strengthening cybersecurity in Iraq. This participation underscores the University of Information Technology and Communications’ commitment to enhancing its academic presence at specialized events and supporting its efforts to keep pace with the latest developments in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, thereby contributing to the development of the academic and research environment and serving the community.
