The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research concluded its program o fspecialized workshops aimed at advancing the implementation of the Bologna Process,with the participation of university presidents, vice presidents for scientific affairs, and a number of faculty members. The event was attended by the international expert in higher education policy development and the Bologna Process, Professor Dr. Burak Arıkan.

In a speech delivered at the closing ceremony of the program, hosted by Imam Al-Sadiq University(PBUH), the Deputy Minister for Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Haider Abd Dhahad, affirmed that the Ministry remains committed to implementing its vision for advancing the higher education system in line with internationally recognized academic frameworks. He noted that the Bologna Process constitutes a cornerstone for modernizing academic programs, enhancing the quality of educational outcomes, and developing the university environment in accordance with scientific advancements and the requirements of sustainable development.

For his part, the President of Imam Al-Sadiq University (PBUH), Professor Dr. Riyadh Khalil Ibrahim,stated that hosting the closing ceremony of the program reflects the University’s commitment to keeping pace with the Ministry’s vision for enhancing academic performance, institutionalizing best practices, and expanding opportunities for scientific collaboration in line with the requirements of the next phase.

The program also featured a specialized lecture entitled “From Bologna Principles to Institutional Practice,” delivered by the international expert Professor Dr. Burak Arıkan.In his presentation, he discussed the fundamental principles of the Bologna Process,international experiences in its implementation, and the mechanisms for leveraging those experiences to develop higher education policies and academic institutions in accordance with global best practices.

The program concluded with a panel discussion on mechanisms for advancing the implementation of the Bologna Process in Iraqi universities. Participants explored a range of perspectives and proposals aimed at standardizing implementation procedures and enhancing the quality of academic performance, inline with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s vision for developing the higher education system.
