The Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul Hussein Al-Moussawi, chaired a meeting of the Advisory Board, attended by senior staff and presidents of public universities.
During the meeting, which was also attended by the Head of the Parliamentary Education Committee, Dr. Adel Al-Rikabi, and committee member Dr. Hassan Al-Masoudi, the Advisory Board emphasized the necessity for Iraqi students studying abroad in neighboring countries to complete their remaining residency permits in accordance with applicable legal frameworks, ensuring the smooth flow of procedures.
The Advisory Board directed the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations to continuously monitor this issue, coordinate on any developments, and take the necessary measures in accordance with applicable regulations and instructions.
The members of the Advisory Board discussed the items on its agenda, including authorizing deans of colleges and institutes to form investigative committees and address the cases of medical students regarding equivalency exams and parallel equivalency programs.
During the meeting, the Advisory Board stressed the importance of enhancing academic rigor and performance efficiency, and ensuring the quality of graduates in both public and private universities.
