The University of Information Technology and Communications achieved a remarkable accomplishment with the Teana Team from the College of Business Informatics securing second place among Iraqi universities in the Community Service track of the National University Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Applications Championship (NURAI 2026), achieving a score of 91.

The Community Service track witnessed fierce competition, with 155 teams from Iraqi universities participating. The total number of participating and qualifying teams in the championship reached 542. The university team achieved the third highest ranking among Iraqi universities, reflecting the team’s advanced scientific and technical capabilities.

This achievement stemmed from the team’s project, RASID: An Integrated MLOps and GIS Platform for Real-Time Road Hazard Detection and Fleet Intelligence. This integrated platform utilizes MLOps technologies, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and artificial intelligence to provide real-time road hazard detection and support intelligent fleet management, contributing to the provision of technological solutions with a direct impact on community service.

This achievement underscores the University of Information Technology and Communications’ presence in specialized national competitions and its commitment to supporting student innovation and employing modern technologies to address societal challenges. It also reflects the efforts of the student team and the supervising university staff in developing high-quality, applicable, and scalable projects.
