The Continuing Education Center (CEC), in cooperation with the Postgraduate Studies Affairs Department at the University of Information Technology and Communications (UoITC), held an online scientific workshop titled “Postgraduate Studies Procedures and Regulations in Iraqi Universities”. The workshop highlighted the implementation mechanisms and approved standards for application and admission to various academic programs.
The workshop was delivered by Prof. Dr. Sinan Abdul-Aali Naji, Director of the Postgraduate Studies Affairs Department at the university, and Assist. Prof. Dr. Dhari Ali Mahmoud, a faculty member in the Computer Engineering Department at the University of Technology. At the outset, they discussed the registration timeline, which begins with obtaining a no-objection letter for employees and incorporating it into the staffing needs plan, followed by taking the National Examination for Language and Computer Proficiency. The process then proceeds through the electronic and paper-based application systems, ending with the competitive examination and personal interview.
The workshop also included detailed explanations of the criteria used to rank applicants and the precise academic regulations, foremost among them the calculation of the academic equivalency percentage. The presenters also reviewed the stages of monitoring and processing applications through the electronic system, leading up to the announcement of the final results.
