The President of the University of Information Technology and Communications, Prof. Dr. Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri, discussed with the Head of the Iraqi Programmers Syndicate, Mr. Atheer Al-Qaisi, ways to enhance joint cooperation between the university and the syndicate, and this collaboration aims to support students and graduates, develop their technical skills, and align academic educational outcomes with the requirements of the labor market in the information technology sector.

During the meeting—where the Head of the Iraqi Programmers Syndicate welcomed the University President—discussions covered various areas of cooperation, and the key topics included training and professional development, scientific research, artificial intelligence, and modern technologies, alongside the enhancement of joint programs and initiatives designed to develop the capabilities of students and graduates and open up professional opportunities for skilled Iraqi programmers.

Al-Bakri emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between academic institutions and professional syndicates to foster synergy between academic knowledge and professional expertise, and to support efforts to develop Iraq’s information and communication technology (ICT) sector, and he also highlighted the university’s commitment to supporting initiatives that empower young people and develop their skills in alignment with the rapid transformations occurring in the technical fields.

For his part, Mr. Atheer Al-Qaisi, Head of the Iraqi Programmers Syndicate, commended the university’s initiatives to support the software sector and technical talent, and he emphasized the importance of expanding areas of cooperation to benefit students, graduates, and programmers, and to contribute to building effective partnerships between academic and professional institutions.
