The President of the University discusses with the Presidency of the Council of Representatives the digital transformation towards electronic governance

The President of the University of Information Technology and Communications , Dr. Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri, discussed with the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Hassan Karim Al-Kaabi, the e-government project.

“The meeting was held in the office of the First Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies during which the support of the Speaker of the Parliament was discussed for the Supreme National Committee for Digital Transformation towards Electronic Governance, in addition to discussing the work of the Committee in general and the findings of the infrastructure plan and draft laws and electronic services.

Dr. Bakri added that “a mechanism was discussed to develop electronic services for the ministries of state and independent bodies, and the possibility of supporting the Legislative Council to legislate the draft laws of the e-government, which was sent from the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers to the Council of State.”

“The meeting addressed the possibility of providing support to the University of Information Technology and Communications as the main driver for the development of this sector at the academic, research and development level,” he said.

The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Hassan Karim Kaabi praised the efforts of the Committee and promised to support the work of the Committee to overcome the obstacles that prevent the completion of its work in achieving its goals.

The President of the University, Dr. Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri, is a member of the Supreme National Committee for Digital Transformation towards e-governance and head of the policy and legal framework team.
