Business Informatics College at the University, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Control in the Ministry of Interior, held an educational symposium on narcotics abuse and its danger to Iraqi society.
The seminar, presented by Colonel Bilal Sobhi Jabr, Director of media at the General Directorate of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Control, aims to aware the youth about the dangers of narcotics abuse and its health effects.
Colonel Jabr explained the history of the spread of the narcotics phenomenon and their link to medicine and its health problems and the resulting diseases that cause death, including viral hepatitis and other deadly diseases and their psychological impact on humans, and for his part, he mentioned the types of narcotics, their divisions and nomenclature.
He stressed the need to stay away from addiction, cooperate and report any case by calling the toll-free number 178, indicating that, in accordance with Article 40 of the Anti-Narcotics Law, a criminal case will not be instituted against those who use narcotic substances or psychotropic substances on their own for treatment in the hospital specialized in treating addicted.
