The Division of Qualification, Employment and Follow-up at the University of Information Technology and Communication , in cooperation with Al-Tanmea Bank, held the fifth annual Jobs and Software Fair, with the participation of a number of private sector companies and state institutions.
The President of the University, Prof. Dr. Abbas Al-Bakri, spoke in his speech in which he stressed the “necessity of early communication with the labor market in order to create the right paths for the production of productive and distinguished scientific research, as well as providing the necessary skills for the graduate, which increases access to job opportunities and optimal employment for scientific research. The participation of specialized companies in this exhibition and previous exhibitions is evidence of the keenness of these companies to benefit from the students’ products, which are the result of a continuous effort for four years.”
Al-Bakri also extended his thanks and appreciation to the representative of the Ministry of Scientific Education and Scientific Research, the participating private companies, the Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Division, and the university students participating in the fifth annual job and software fair.
For its part, the representative of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Hussein Nasser, spoke about the importance of holding such exhibitions concerned with developing the skills of graduate students and sponsoring their scientific research and moving them towards the labor market, as this is one of the tasks of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is the marketing of the scientific product.
After that, the activities of the Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Division were reviewed by the Division official, Mr. Awad Kathem Mahmoud, who gave a presentation that included the division’s participation and activities since its establishment, as well as the cooperations held by the university with private sector companies and following up on the work of graduate students who work in government institutions and private sector companies.
The representative of Al-Tanmea Bank, the official sponsor of the exhibition, also gave a presentation on the bank’s achievements, its handling and support for student activities and its contribution to supporting students and graduates.
While the owners of private companies gave presentations on the work and activity of each company, where nearly 30 companies specialized in the fields of communications, informatics and software participated.
At the end of the exhibition, graduation projects for college students (Business Informatics, Engineering, and Biomedical Informatics) were reviewed, which included graduation projects in various disciplines and fields.
