The Center of Continuous Education at the University of Information Technology and Communication (UoITC) organized a training course in Mikrotik Networking.
The two-week course was delivered by a lecturer at the university Mr.Wiam Hamza. It included an explanation of network’s concepts and an important part of it, which is IPV4 SUBNETTING, as it is the basis for any process of building an internal or external network. The basics of Mikrotik were also explained, including installing the WINBOX program for operating Mikrotik devices and creating a special IP for it in order to facilitate the authentication process.
After that the lecturer explained the way external Internet is received and distributed it the internal network, and how to determine a special capacity for each user by using several methods as the most important of which are PPPOE and HOTSPOT, in addition to addressing the concepts of GATEWAY and NAT at the request of the course participants, as these two concepts are important in the process of building networks. A group of engineers from the Ministries of Oil and Finance participated in this course.
