The President of the University of Information Technology and Communications, Prof. Dr. Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri, and the Dean of Business Informatics College, Assist. Prof. Dr. Nagham Hamed Abdul Mahdi honored the top and most outstanding students at the University Education Center in Al-Karkh Prison in Baghdad, which is affiliated with the Business Informatics College, where four inmate students in Al-Karkh Prison achieved the first four places in the college for the academic year 2022-2023.
Dr. Al-Bakri made a visit to the University Education Center in Al-Karkh Prison to honor the students and see the progress of the educational process for the inmates, and he was received by the Administrative Assistant to the Director of Al-Karkh Prison, the jurist Mr. Ahmed Bakr Zuwaid, and during the meeting, the educational process in the University Education Center and ways to develop it and pay attention to this important achievement and the first of its kind in Iraq were discussed, which was carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice.
The University President also viewed the classrooms that are under construction to accommodate the increasing number of inmate students.
The Business Informatics College at the University had opened the University Education Center in Al-Karkh Prison in Baghdad, in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice, to educate inmates and grant them a bachelor’s degree in the college’s specializations and by the applicable controls, to create a conscious and educated generation to serve the community, and in support to the youth who are the mainstay of the country’s future.
