At the Informatics Institute for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Information Technology and Communications, the Master’s thesis of student Huda Muwaffaq Kadhum, entitled: (Predicating the Water Footprint Using Data Mining Techniques).
The thesis falls under the specialization of computer science, as it addressed one of the most important environmental and economic issues facing Iraq, which is the shortage of water resources and its impact on the agricultural sector, which consumes more than 90% of the country’s fresh water.
The study aims to develop an intelligent predictive model capable of estimating the water consumption of major agricultural crops, which will contribute to rationalizing water use and directing agricultural policies towards achieving sustainability, as well as supporting decisions related to determining the most suitable crops for local cultivation or importation according to their water consumption rates.
At the end of the discussion, the student received a Master’s degree with an (Excellent) grade in the field of Computer Science.
