The Informatics Institute for Postgraduate Studies at the University of Information Technology and Communications (UOITC) has discussed the Master’s thesis submitted by the student Rasha Dawood Salman, specializing in Computer Science.
The thesis was titled:
“Enhancing Agricultural Sustainability Using Transfer Learning and Swarm Algorithms for Early Plant Disease Detection”
The study aimed to employ Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques for the early detection of plant diseases, addressing the growing need for smart and effective solutions that support agricultural sustainability. The research proposed an advanced model for plant leaf classification based on two scenarios that integrate Deep Learning architectures with bio-inspired optimization algorithms (Swarm Algorithms).
At the conclusion of the session, the examination committee awarded the student a Master’s degree in Computer Science with a very good grade.
