The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Biomedical Informatics, University of Information Technology and Communications, held an educational seminar entitled “Awareness of Climate Change and its Impact on Human Health,” presented by Ms. Fatima Qasim Abdul Majeed.

The seminar addressed climate change as one of the most prominent challenges facing the world today, due to its direct and indirect effects on human health and the environment. These effects include the spread of infectious diseases resulting from changes in the environments suitable for disease vectors, as well as its impact on air and water quality, which increases cases of respiratory illnesses, allergies, and heart disease.

The seminar also discussed the importance of promoting environmental awareness and adopting environmentally friendly behaviors, such as conserving energy and water, increasing green spaces, and reducing pollution, to mitigate the effects of climate change on human health.

The seminar further recommended emphasizing the necessity of concerted governmental, societal, and individual efforts to confront this phenomenon and protect the health of current and future generations.
