Presidency of UOITC represented by the assistant of university president for scientific affairs and her accompanied delegation visited child’s central teaching hospital in Al-Eskan region.
This visit is considered as a voluntary, social and humanitarian initiative adopted by the UOITC which was represented by Dr. Jane J. Stephan assistant of university president for scientific affairs, Dr. Enaam Rekan head of research and development and post graduate department in the university and other members who visited the department of Blood and Cancer diseases in the child’s central teaching hospital in Al-Eskan region to see the service and humanitarian reality in the hospital.
The visit included doing a round in the corridors of the hospital especially in the department of blood and cancer (leukemia) to see the reality of children with blood and cancer diseases and introducing gifts and clothes as well as holding meetings with the advanced staff of hospital management and selected doctors.
From his side, the director of Child’s hospital Dr. Firas Hashim expressed about his gratitude and thanks for this visit which reflected the keenness of the educational institution (the university) on the life and future of the Iraqi people, especially children with blood and cancer diseases and their suffering is more severe, especially that the hospital receives sick children from seven provinces of the Middle Euphrates as well as from the regions of Al-Karkh, adding that the hospital and children are in dire need of support which is to donate medical supplies and medicines as well as moral support such as visiting these children, encouraging them and playing with them in order to overcome these diseases and recover.
